Collaboration with the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov” is strengthening year by year. Recently, the Department of “Energy, Automation, and Computer Science” received a package from Cheboksary, sent by Associate Professor and Ph.D. Alexey Germanovich Kalinin, Head of the Department of “Electric Power Engineering,” along with his colleagues. They have published a textbook titled “Secrets of Friction Stir Welding Technology.”
The textbook presents the results of research on the technological modes of welding dissimilar copper and aluminum alloys, as well as practical applications of the technology in mass production in machine building, instrument making, and the manufacturing of construction structures.
Copies of this scientific work will be valuable to our partner enterprise, the Ural Transformer Plant, where friction stir welding is actively applied. The plant’s Chief Technologist expressed gratitude to the team of the “Energy, Automation, and Computer Science” Department of WKITU and the “Electric Power Engineering” Department of Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulianov.
